A Brand With
Deep Roots
Truth be told, our founding mister actually was a monsieur. Great-grand-père Bensadoun was a French cobbler, producing and repairing handmade shoes. His son, “Papi” Bensadoun learned his father’s trade and parlayed that skill into a network of shoe stores called Le Pied Mignon. With footwear in his blood, papi’s son,
Aldo Bensadoun, built on this heritage by bringing old-world expertise into the new world. Thus was born Mr. B’s Gentlemen’s Boutique for ALDO.
Handmaking Shoes
Gives Them Character
All told, our shoemaking process involves over 50 individual pieces, nearly all of them made by hand in Europe’s finest factories by craftspeople trained in Italy’s Brenta region. Handmaking shoes gives them character – subtle patterns in the stitching, or colouring in the upper, reflect the fact that a human has made them. The beauty is in the imperfection.
Our work is an exercise in marrying tradition with innovation. Whether it’s the timeless simplicity of a leather loafer or the hand-finished detailing of a brogue oxford wingtip, Mr. B’s uses old-world methods, top grade leather, and refined craftsmanship to build handsome, handcrafted modern shoes that are comfortable and robust.
